‘La Locherie’ means the owners of the hamlet La Locherie, Helen Davies
& Phil Durrant
‘Guest’ means all persons renting and resident at any property within
the hamlet of La Locherie
Booking
And Rental
- Please
telephone or e-mail La Locherie as soon as possible in order to confirm
availability of your chosen property and make a provisional booking.

- Provisional
bookings can be held for seven days in order for the deposit cheque
(or full payment if due) and completed, signed booking form to be returned.
Upon receipt of the completed booking form, La Locherie will send confirmation
of booking and any further information.
- The
rental period is from 16.00 on the day of arrival until 10.00 on the
day of departure. All
rentals during high season start and end on a Saturday. This is negotiable
outside high season.
- Gites
must be left in a clean and tidy condition on day of departure.
- Rental
of Maison du Soleil and Maison des Etoiles includes: bed linen, kitchen
and bathroom towels, reasonable electricity consumption, reasonable
use of firewood, CD Player, CDs and books for customers’ use while renting
the property, washing machine and iron, garden furniture, table tennis
table and barbecue. A TV/DVD player is available in each property for
viewing DVD's but there is no TV connection. There are a selection of
films available but parents are asked to supervise childrens' viewing
as some are 15 or 18 certificate.
- The persons
staying in the rental properties for the duration of the rental must
be those declared on the booking form.
- The guest
should report any breakages and/or defects in the property or its contents
to the owners or their representative without delay.
- The use
of the accommodation, equipment or any amenities on site is entirely
at the guest’s risk and no responsibility will be accepted for injury,
loss or damage to guests personally, their belongings, or vehicles.
La Locherie is not insured for theft of guests’ belongings.
- Under
no circumstances shall La Locherie’s liability to the guest exceed the
amount paid by the guest to La Locherie for the rental period.
Payment
- All payments
should be made in Sterling unless otherwise agreed.
- Sterling
cheques or banker’s drafts (available at all high street banks) are
accepted forms of payment.

- Deposit
amount is 25% of total rental cost and is due at time of booking.
- Final
payment is 75% of total rental cost plus security deposit and is due
no less than two calendar months prior to rental start date. It is the
customer’s responsibility to ensure payment is received by La Locherie
by the due date.
- If booking
is made within two calendar months of arrival, full payment is required
in order to confirm booking.
Security
Deposit
- The security
deposit is £50 for each full or partial rental week.
- Any breakages,
damage or loss caused to the property or its contents during the rental
period may result in the forfeit of some or all of the security deposit.
- Although
final cleaning is included within the rental price, La Locherie reserves
the right to retain money from the security deposit, to cover additional
cleaning costs should the property be left in an unacceptable condition.
- Reasonable
electricity and wood costs are included in the rental price. La Locherie
reserves the right to deduct a charge from the security deposit, should
electricity or wood usage be deemed excessive.
- Gas bottles
are provided for the cooker. Should the bottle run out, you are asked
to switch to the spare and replace the empty bottle with a new one.
In the event that the spare gas bottle is not sealed as unused, a fee
of £10 will be deducted from the security deposit.
- The security
deposit will be returned, subject to the conditions above, during the
week following departure.
Cancellation
& Refund Policy
- Cancellation
must be confirmed in writing
- If the
rental is cancelled more than 8 weeks prior to rental start date, the
original deposit of 25% will be retained by la Locherie
- If the
rental is cancelled less than 8 weeks prior to rental start date, the
total rental cost will be retained by La Locherie. The security deposit
will be returned to the customer.
- If cancellation
is unavoidable, these costs should be recoverable via your holiday insurance.
Insurance
- La Locherie
strongly recommends that the guest takes out holiday insurance to cover
unavoidable cancellation, incident, injury or illness. Guests from the
UK or EU must bring their E111 document (obtainable at main Post Offices).
- We also
advise that the customer takes out additional breakdown and motor insurance
if on a self drive holiday.
Limit
of Liability
La
Locherie shall not be held responsible for:
- Any temporary
defect or stoppage in the supply of public services to the property,
or in respect of any equipment, machinery, or appliances in the property
or garden.
- Any loss,
damage or injury, which is a result of adverse weather conditions, riot,
war, strikes, or other matters beyond the owner’s control.
- Any loss,
damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the guest if the property
is destroyed or substantially damaged before the start of, or during
the rental period.
- If the
guest fails to notify La Locherie of any problems or dissatisfactions
prior to departure from the property, La Locherie will deem that the
guest is satisfied and therefore has no case for redress.
Health
& Safety
La
Locherie operates a strict NO SMOKING policy in ALL PROPERTIES.
