La Locherie is easy to reach from any of the ferry ports or via
the Channel Tunnel. Without racing, it takes 1.5 hours to drive from St. Malo,
less than 2 hours from Caen, up to 2.5 hours from Cherbourg and around 5 from
Calais and Boulogne. Currently, Speedferries are the cheapest option, (www.speedferries.com),
offering fast crossings between Dover and Boulogne from £50 return and
we have found them to be reliable. Low cost flights by Ryanair, from Stansted
to Dinard, are also an option.
Despite the ease of access, the property is far enough south to fall into a
higher temperature band than the UK, normally resulting in a couple of extra
degrees in summer.
